About This Subspecialty

The Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center, a subspecialty within the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciencesdiagnoses, treats and manages immune-mediated neurologic diseases, which occur when the body’s immune system attacks the central nervous system, in adult patients (18 years and older)including multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, optic neuritis, transverse myelitis and autoimmune encephalitis.

Our team provides comprehensive evaluations and individualized care using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychological testing, lab work, imaging, lumbar puncture, small fiber biopsy, neurourology and urogynecology assessment, speech and language rehabilitation, nutritional counseling, and social work or case management services. We are dedicated to helping you understand your condition, manage symptoms and optimize functionhealth and overall well-being.

Our Treatment Approach

At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.

UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
